Biomorphic
Biomorphic, is a style characterized by living organisms or nature. Its defintion is derived from the Greeks, meaning ""bios"" is life and “morphe” means shape. In the early 20th century, biomorphic art started evolving. It began to emerge in the Surrealist movement, where the artists sought to draw out the subconscious and reflect on the spotlighted conscious world. Biomorphic art has many notable representaives, for example Jean Arp, who sculpted and painted using amoeba shapes, or Joan Miro whose infantil, biomorphic abstractions were built between the world and dreams. Another influential figure is Hans Arp, who founded Dada movement and adapted biomorphism in his sculpted pieces. The mid-20th century carried the highest popularity for biomorphic art. At that time, it opposed all stereotypical representations and abstractions, as the viewers started inviting for reflection in forms found in nature. With ibidction of the normal concept of shape and architecture, biomorphic art has aroused in the audience unexpectedly pleasant feelings that life is still a pondeous place full for wonders to be unfolded.
