Yuliia Didevych
Artist from Ukraine
I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1997 . I am inspired by the work of various masters: Mykhailo Guida, Matissa, Albert Marche, Murashko. I believe that the composition plays the main role in the picture and in my works I look for such compositions that would convey feelings.I graduated from college with the title of drawing teacher. I received my education at the Academy of Fine Arts (NAOMA) as a painter, I have a master's degree.

Cold
Painting by Yuliia Didevych
50 x 50 cm • Acrylic and oil, Canvas with oil
Location:
kyiv, Ukraine
This painting reflects the experience of Ukrainians, particularly Kyiv residents, during the winter blackouts caused by Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Wrapped in red, the figure stands against the cold and darkness — a symbol of both vulnerability and inner strength. The red color speaks of pain, danger, and loss, but also of warmth preserved inside when the world around grows hostile.
“Cold” is not only about the absence of heat and light. It is about endurance, quiet resilience, and the human ability to protect one’s inner warmth even in times of fear, uncertainty, and forced darkness.
