Oleksiy Belusenko

In the quiet, contemplative spaces of Oleksiy Belusenko’s paintings, time feels like it has softened, lingering between memory and the present. Born in Kazakhstan in 1960 and moving to Ukraine as a child, Belusenko has spent a lifetime weaving together history, landscape, and emotion — both as an artist and as a restorer of the past. For 25 years, he worked at the National Scientific Research Restoration Centre in Kyiv, (specialising in polychrome wooden sculpture and decorative carving), breathing life back into centuries-old sculptures and carvings. This intimate relationship with history shaped his artistic eye — his brushstrokes carrying the patience of a restorer, his compositions steeped in reverence for what came before. His works feel like whispers of the past, filtered through a deeply personal lens. While Belusenko’s career spans painting, sculpture, and curation, it is his landscapes that carry his most intimate dialogue with the world. Capturing the quiet poetry of Ukrainian nature, his canvases are imbued with a sense of nostalgia—soft brushwork, muted yet resonant tones, and an ever-present balance between warmth and coolness. His work does not impose itself; rather, it invites you in, allowing you to drift between reality and impression, between what is seen and what is felt. Beyond his artistic practice, Belusenko has also dedicated himself to art education, sharing his knowledge through the BritArt XX lecture series, where he dissects the nuances of 20th-century British art. As a curator and a founding member of the Blue October creative association, he continues to shape and support the contemporary art scene in Ukraine. Today, his works reside in private collections and museums across 30 countries. Yet, despite this global reach, his paintings remain rooted in something deeply personal — his connection to place, to time, and to the quiet beauty of everyday moments.

Artwork Oksana Fedchyshyn - Subjektiv.art

Oksana Fedchyshyn

Oksana Fedchyshyn (b. 1999, Ukraine) is an artist based in Ukraine. Graduated in Painting at Lviv State College of Decorative and Applied Arts Ivan Trush and in Graphic Design at Lviv National Academy of Arts. Fedchyshy is inspired by folk art, mythology, and people. She often turns to the topic of the human connection with nature and the metamorphosis of bodies. Her art becomes a dialogue between inner and outer worlds, where humans and animals coexist in harmony, sometimes merging with each other to reveal deeper truths about who we are. In her work, Fedchyshy often turns to simple naive motifs, images of various fictional, often zoomorphic characters. Such visual images easily arose from poems rich in aphorisms and metaphors. Works of their kind conduct a constant dialogue with poetry. In 2018, she was awarded the Index Mariusz Kazana competition prize and held her first solo exhibition. Since then, she has exhibited her work in solo and group shows across Ukraine, Poland, and Germany.

Artwork Egor Guschin - Subjektiv.art

Egor Guschin was born in 1988 in Ukraine, graduated from the Kharkiv University of Construction and Architecture with a degree in Organizational Management. He worked in his specialty for a while, then moved into the food service industry and worked as a barista in coffee shops for a long time before finding his true passion in photography. Egor's work has been featured in publications such as Plivkapeoplemag and exhibited in various galleries in Lviv, Kharkiv and Kyiv, Ukraine. This is how his career as an artist began in 2023. Now he is a member of the MYPH school of conceptual and fine art photography. Works with analog photography, mainly using the multiple exposure technique. Inspired by surrealism, loves to study mysticism and dreams, and experiments with expired film.

Natasha Brichuk, known as Notuko, paints in the language of memory. Raised in Rivne, Ukraine, she grew up surrounded by the vivid patterns of embroidered tablecloths, the warmth of painted ceramics, and the quiet grandeur of old Ukrainian architecture. These objects weren’t just decoration—they were stories, passed down through generations, whispering of heritage, resilience, and identity. But tradition, as she saw it, was not static. It pulsed with life, adapting, shifting, existing between past and present. It is this in-between space that Notuko inhabits as an artist. She pursued decorative and applied arts, specialising in ceramics, but painting became her true medium for storytelling. What began as a simple fascination evolved into a bold artistic language - where folk motifs meet abstraction, where Byzantine echoes intertwine with modern fluidity. Her figures emerge as symbols rather than individuals, their forms at times dissolving into textured layers of colour, as if caught between reality and memory. Improvisation is at the heart of her process. She embraces instinct, letting her brushwork capture fleeting emotions and intangible histories. Her compositions often feel like fragments of a grander, unseen whole — inviting viewers to reconnect with traditions, not as relics, but as living, breathing experiences. Notuko’s works have traveled far beyond her hometown, exhibited across Ukraine, Europe, and the UK. Yet, her essence remains rooted in the stories of home — the unspoken ties between past generations and those still to come. Her art is a conversation between centuries, a delicate balance of structure and spontaneity, of inherited symbols and contemporary expression. To experience Notuko’s work is to step into a world where tradition doesn’t belong to the past—it evolves, just like us.

L’artiste sélectionne minutieusement ses motifs parmis des photos issues de ses propres shooting où se trouvent des interactions entre les personnages dans des territoires ensoleillés. Elle représente ces clichés en peinture à l’huile sur toile, en les recadrant et sélectionnant ses couleurs. Sa touche est emprunte de ce que sa vue a digéré, son ressenti à filtré. S’établit un processus créatif pour traduire la lumière et les mouvements des personnages. Dans ses œuvres la lumière a fonction de composition. La peintre décrit la lumière et le mouvement de façon radicale. Elle théâtralise, sacralise une réalité d’apparence banale. L’univers pictural de Fairfeld Porter l’inspire dans la recherche du motif et de la composition de ses peintures. Son geste est dans la lignée de celui de peintres néo expressionnistes allemands des années 80, caractérisé par une franche liberté d’expression. Le médium peinture ne s’éfface pas derrière le motif. Il est garant d’un choix subjectif qu’elle établit face à son modèle.

I'm Bohdana Tkach, an artist, photographer, and graphic designer from Rivne, Ukraine. My creative path is rooted in my studies of environmental design at the Kyiv Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and free graphics at NAOMA. These experiences shaped my unique visual language, blending traditional techniques with modern artistic practices. My work centers on the exploration of the human body, especially the female form, as a vessel of identity, emotion, and history. Since 2019, I have been drawn to cyanotype, an alternative photographic printing method, which allows me to merge tactile craftsmanship with conceptual depth. I would describe myself as a seeker—a weaver of thoughts, emotions, and images. My mind thrives on the poetry of connection, the quiet questions that linger between moments, and the beauty found in both complexity and simplicity. I am drawn to the interplay of light and shadow, in the world and within myself, always searching for meaning and expression that transcend the immediate. As a thinker, I embrace the fluidity of ideas, letting them evolve and intertwine, guided by curiosity and an enduring sense of wonder. My work is both a reflection and an exploration—a way to navigate the vastness of existence and to leave something of myself in the spaces I touch. I strive to approach life with open eyes, an open heart, and a belief in the power of art to connect, heal, and transform.

Feros (Serhii Hrekh) is a contemporary artist working in Ukraine. In his early career, he used the cityscape of Lviv, Ukraine as a canvas, creating graffiti works known for their bold use of color and shape. His raw and rebellious style gained recognition locally and beyond, with each mural telling a unique story inspired by personal experiences and societal issues. As Feros evolved as an artist, he transitioned from graffiti to abstraction and figurative surrealism. Each color choice is intentional, evoking specific emotions and narratives. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, now based in Lisbon, she crafts paintings that feel like echoes of a theatrical performance, where characters linger in a suspended moment, caught between societal expectations and personal truths. Her work is a stage, and every canvas is a scene unfolding. Darina’s journey began in a traditional family, where expectations were clear—but her fascination with the surreal led her beyond the familiar. She started art school at six, mastering techniques that shaped her unique visual language. While studying graphic design in Kyiv, Darina found her true voice in painting — a space where boundaries blurred and deeper narratives emerged. At 19, she moved to Lisbon, an experience that shaped her perspective as an outsider navigating an unfamiliar world. Her art became a reflection of identity, isolation, and the quiet weight of societal expectations. From Schönhausen Palace Museum in Berlin to New York’s 17frost Gallery, her work speaks to a universal struggle — the tension between conformity and self-expression. Whether in the dreamlike haze of New Dream World or the raw intimacy of My First Diary, Darina’s paintings invite viewers to step into a moment of self-reflection, where emotions take form and meaning unfolds. Darina doesn’t just paint figures — she paints questions. Her art asks: Who are we, beyond the expectations placed upon us? What do we reveal, and what do we conceal? Her world is one where the symbolic and the surreal merge, reflecting not just her own journey, but the collective search for meaning in a world full of invisible walls.
