Claudia De La Hoz

Claudia De La Hoz was born in Colombia in 1979. She came to France to complete her post-graduate studies in art history, interior design and textile design. Working in various spheres of these professions for over 15 years, including the creation of handcrafted textiles in collaboration with Colombian artisans. Now a visual artist since 2021, she devotes her time in her studio in Paris 14éme to painting and developing her artistic project with a collective she created in 2023. #Useyourbrainproject will be exhibited for the first time at 18 Bis Galerie, 75006 Paris, on April 2024. Her work straddles the border between expressionism, magic realism and neo-fauvism, using nature as a springboard to explore broader existential questions. Her « Secret Gardens » series, for example, explores the enchanting microcosms hidden in small outdoor sanctuaries, particularly wildflowers. Her Colombian roots infuse her palette with pastels reminiscent of the sunsets over her hometown of Barranquilla, and vibrant greens and blues reflecting its lush landscapes. In a world where stress is omnipresent, her art becomes an oasis of rejuvenation, offering comfort and respite. Since 2021, her work has been exhibited several times in Paris, Italy and the USA. She lives and works in Paris.
