Mazes Of Time
Prints by Lana Korolievskaia
80 x 100 cm • Canvas
Location:
Dnipro, Ukraine
The dominant feature of the composition is the hourglass. Its upper bowl faces space. The lower part of the hourglass is a labyrinth. The symbolism inherent in the artist's work is clearly seen in this work. The staircase is an image of the connection between the top and the bottom, space and earth, which creates a connection between the worlds. Moving up the stairs marks the beginning of a new stage, an exit to another level. The eternal question of happiness and time arises before everyone and makes one think about the immortality of one's own soul. Every day a person needs to make a choice between light and dark, between good and evil. In the picture, this is shown through the plane of the checkerboard.
