The energetic flamenco dance inspired the artist to create this graphic sheet. It has all the soul of the temperamental Spaniards. The guitarist masterfully plays his instrument, people around clap their hands, creating a clear metrical rhythm, the girl performs expressive choreographic movements, tapping castanets. Everything merges into one integral collective action, frantic like Spain itself. Flamenco is so bewitching that it cannot leave anyone indifferent. Some researchers of the history of this dance claim that its name comes from the word “flame,” which very clearly reflects the intensity of flamenco passion. Contrary to general misconceptions about the semantic meaning of flamenco, this dance is not at all about love and fun. Fiery expressive flamenco is a reflection of the suffering and pain of the people who endured the Reconquista.
