Irises
Painting by Lana Korolievskaia
50 x 40 cm • Canvas with oil
Iris is a symbol of rainbow and pacification. Bright soft iris petals, shimmering in different colors, are dedicated to the Greek goddess of the rainbow Iris. Iris is a messenger from heaven, transmitting news to people from the Olympic gods, flying so fast that a mere mortal can only see the rainbow light from her flight. So iris is a rainbow flower. Flowers fascinate the artist. She again paints luxurious flowers against a pulsating burgundy background. Irises strive to fill the space of the canvas, filling it with their beauty. In the teaching and art of organizing living space, irises mean wisdom and endless youth, a life that does not know old age. Irises harmonize well the space where the family gathers. This is a wonderful symbol of good relations and friendship, so giving iris flowers is appropriate for various celebrations for people of all ages.
