"Ur-Presence" - "The threat through the mere fact of existence" - is when a person (or body, or image) does not need to do anything to provoke aggression or fear. Their very existence is already perceived as a challenge, as a danger to the system, the norm, or control. This is characteristic of fascist or authoritarian structures. They feel threatened not even by resistance, but by the mere presence of something different.
