Olena Yemelianova
Artist from Ukraine
Olena Yemelianova ukrainian artist whose practice includes watercolor, acrylic, collage and photography. In her artistic research, she explores how people come to understand themselves through the expression of emotions and feelings, living through significant or everyday events in their lives. Considering the environment as a trigger for the process of self-discovery, she draws attention to the connection between life, historical and emotional processes that inspire the urban theme, as the development of a symbiotic structure, time and easy living. She exhibited both at personal exhibitions in Kharkov (Ukraine) and at group exhibitions (such as: “Invisible Gardens”, National Museum of Taras Shevchenko, Kyiv;
“Ineradicable places of Ukraine”, Directorate of Exhibitions of the National Assembly of Artists of Ukraine, Central House of the Artist, Kyiv; “United by watercolor”, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, Odessa). She is most inspired by architecture and elements of the urban landscape.Оlena's paintings offer reflections on the fact that we build our lives as architects of our destiny, and that we are constantly transforming and expanding, just like the architectural forms that surround us.

Unspeakable tenderness

In this work, I address the most subtle — that inner state that lives in each of us since childhood: a state of complete trust in the world, when everything around seems gentle and understandable. Without the need to prove anything. Without the fear of being misunderstood.
This painting is not just an image. It is a touch. It is a silence in which you can finally breathe. It is a memory that lives not in your head, but in your body - like a sense of security, like the warmth of your parents' hands that once held you unconditionally. About the childlike carefreeness that we unconsciously seek in adulthood. About the moment when the world stops, breathing evens out, and the soul remembers what it once was - open, bright, whole.
"Unspeakable Tenderness" is about what cannot be expressed in words. About fragility, which is not a weakness, but a source of strength. About childish trust in the world. About that state when you have not yet learned to hide, when your soul still says to the world: "I am - and that is enough."
The delicate watercolor here is like a breath. It barely touches the paper, as if afraid to break the silence. And hand-embroidered daisies are a special language. They are a bodily memory, stitched with thread. A symbol of care, purity, and childish joy. Each daisies is like a talisman. Like the calm presence of someone who loves you. Everything in this painting speaks of tenderness that does not require loud gestures. It simply is. And that is enough.
This is not just a combination of techniques. This is a tangle of emotions. Watercolor paints a space, and embroidery roots it in reality. This is a painting that wants to be not just seen - but felt.
This is a place where you can return. Where no one will break you. Because tenderness has already embraced you.
My work here is the only copy of my unique and original handiwork.
