Olena Yemelianova
Artist from Ukraine
Olena Yemelianova ukrainian artist whose practice includes watercolor, acrylic, collage and photography. In her artistic research, she explores how people come to understand themselves through the expression of emotions and feelings, living through significant or everyday events in their lives. Considering the environment as a trigger for the process of self-discovery, she draws attention to the connection between life, historical and emotional processes that inspire the urban theme, as the development of a symbiotic structure, time and easy living. She exhibited both at personal exhibitions in Kharkov (Ukraine) and at group exhibitions (such as: “Invisible Gardens”, National Museum of Taras Shevchenko, Kyiv; “Ineradicable places of Ukraine”, Directorate of Exhibitions of the National Assembly of Artists of Ukraine, Central House of the Artist, Kyiv; “United by watercolor”, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, Odessa). She is most inspired by architecture and elements of the urban landscape.Оlena's paintings offer reflections on the fact that we build our lives as architects of our destiny, and that we are constantly transforming and expanding, just like the architectural forms that surround us.

Morning aroma of the old city
Painting by Olena Yemelianova
36 x 54.5 cm • Watercolor and paper
Location:
Kharkiv, Ukraine
A cup of coffee steams on a table at the very edge of the terrace, its aroma mingling with the faint glint of sunlight on the wet cobblestones. Nearby are warm cookies, soaked in the scents of butter and spices. The city has not yet fully awakened: the shutters of the old houses are just beginning to open, and a few cars are leisurely rolling down the narrow street. Somewhere in the distance, the first chime of the church clock breaks through, echoing between the facades. The street lamps, which a few hours ago illuminated the night roads, now silently observe the new day. The air is filled with lightness, expectation and peace - that special feeling of the morning, when it seems that there is still plenty of time ahead for thoughts, walks and leisurely discoveries. Touching a warm cup, you look at the ancient buildings opposite and imagine how many people were sitting at these tables before you. What were they thinking about? Who were they waiting for? This city has survived centuries - kings and travelers walked here, the voices of merchants sounded here, lovers wrote letters under these lanterns, and on the cobblestones there were traces not only of their feet, but also of stories, intertwined in one endless stream of time. It seems that these walls remember everything. And in this morning peace, the city seems to whisper its memories, and you listen to them along with the aroma of hot coffee. My work here is the only copy of my unique and original handiwork. Household images are computer generated and may not be to scale and are for illustrative purposes only. Make an offer for this job!
