Solomiia entered the room where I was painting. And suddenly, I saw her gaze — full of confidence and determination. She looked at the artists as if she were challenging them.
My anxiety wanted to flee along with everything I had managed to paint so far. But I couldn’t look away.
It was the same with this painting: it was incredibly difficult to paint her, but even harder to leave it unfinished.
Now I understand: Solomiia’s gaze is a reflection of her essence. She hesitates, but she acts. She is afraid, but in the end, she chooses among the most complex options.
And when I grow up — I want to be like Solomiia.
