Tahina Rakotoarivony
Artist from Madagascar
Born in 1980 in Antananarivo, Madagascar, where he lives and works, he has been dedicated to painting since 2001, after training alongside the artist Richard Razafindrakoto, who mentored many Malagasy artists.
A key cultural figure in the local art scene, he has notably participated in artist residencies at Greatmore Studios, South Africa (2011), Arkane, Morocco (2017), and Thupelo, South Africa (2019).
His work has been exhibited in Madagascar, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and the United Kingdom.

Né en 1980 à Antananarivo, Madagascar où il vit et travaille. il se consacre à la peinture depuis 2001, suite à sa formation aux côtés de l'artiste Richard Razafindrakoto, qui a accompagné de nombreux artistes malgaches.
Acteur culturel incontournable de la scène artistique locale, il a notamment participé à des résidences de création à greatmore studios, Afrique du sud (2011), Arkane, Maroc (2017) et thupelo afrique du sud (2019).

Témoin d’une époque - Rassembler ce qui est épars
1- Parmi les quatre fleuves du jardin d’Eden, au moins un n’a jamais été identifié.
2- Pourtant, cela n’a nullement empêché au jardin de puiser dans ses sources afin de prendre forme dans un espace-temps indéfinissable.
3- Tahina Rakotoarivony nous invite à introspecter, non pas sur ces fleuves, mais sur la manière dont notre Éden individuel arrive à s’épanouir, malgré l’incertitude existentielle de ce quatrième fleuve…
4- … mais il est là.

Collection: Witness to an Era – Gathering What Is Scattered
1. Among the four rivers of the Garden of Eden, at least one has never been identified.
2. And yet, this has never prevented the garden from drawing from its sources to take shape in an undefined space-time.
3. Tahina Rakotoarivony invites us to reflect—not on these rivers themselves, but on the way our own individual Eden manages to flourish, despite the existential uncertainty of that fourth river…
