Between Reality and Dream - Limited Edition
Prints by Egor Guschin
21 x 28 cm • Art paper
Location:
Paris, France
This image, taken for the "Between Reality and Dream" project using double exposure on film, shows a mysterious figure appearing behind a thin veil. Translucent fabric envelops the figure, which creates the effect of ephemerality and ghostliness. The figure, barely visible through the fabric, is like a ghost that flickers between worlds, symbolizing the invisible boundaries between reality and dream. The texture of the image and the lightness of the curtain add a surreal effect. It resembles both a wedding veil, which is associated with purity and the beginning, and a funeral cloth, which symbolizes the end. The combination of the two images creates the feeling that the character in the picture is in some kind of transitional state — between life and death, between reality and the other world. Light and shadows play an important role, giving the photo depth and multi-layeredness. This image creates the feeling that we are watching something that exists simultaneously here and there - in another, unattainable reality that can only be seen through the lens of a dream or imagination.
