Sea algaemone
Reflect on...
Artwork details
This sculpture was born from the idea of the transparency and fragility of the underwater world. The choice of white alabaster corresponds to the bleaching we see today on the ocean floor. I wanted to make maximum use of alabaster's property of capturing light and restoring it with a milky halo. There's more space, more emptiness, than stone, and like a sea anemone, it's this space occupied by water that determines its life.
