Pedro O Novo (Beja, 1992) lives and works in Lisbon. He draws inspiration from literature, especially the classics, for his characters and references. His references are worked into the painting in a literal but fanciful way, conveying his aura and immediacy. In his paintings, there is a constant sense of revivalism and nostalgia for another time, one that he never lived. He is currently studying carpentry and plans to incorporate the discipline's rigor, method, and three-dimensionality into his pictorial universe.
