Naturalism
Naturalism refers to an artistic style that originated in the nineteen century and it is marked by the representation of life with it’s full dreadful/ bad reality devoid of idealism and romanticism. Artists attempted to paint the world with its true depiction while placing their concentration on the mundane and commonplace aspects of life. It gained its highest acceptance and preference in the mid to late 19th century because this time witnessed the advent of photography and experts began taking keen interest in scientific observation. Important natural milestones in the development of naturalism include the works of Gustave Courbet, who is the father of the movement, his doscary painting “The Stone Breakers” shocked a lot of audiences. A notable figure is Pierre-Auguste Renoir Well known as Manet and Jean-François Millet better known as Manet and Ayres respectively are of major importance in my contemporaneity as each endowed his own angle to the naturalism. Naturalistic artist aimed to reproduce the changing patterns and shapes, colors and light with accuracy stressing the chief factors of observation and factual correctness placed in first grade of priority. The naturalism in art taught realism in depth, shattering the conventions of idealist havens dominated throughout the bygone centuries.
