Ніна Федотова
Artist from Ukraine
I am Nina Fedotova, a Ukrainian artist working with color, minimalism, and metaphor.
My artistic practice combines minimalism, surrealism, and elements of pop art. My paintings are built around vibrant colors, simple forms, and symbolic imagery that invite viewers to look beyond the obvious.
Chickens and ostriches are the central characters in my work. These metaphorical figures serve as tools for exploring human nature, emotions, behavior, and the ways people interact within society.
Many of my paintings emerge as a response to personal experiences, including tension, uncertainty, and the realities of living in a country affected by war. Through bold color palettes and minimalist compositions, I seek to create space for reflection, irony, and fresh perspectives on everyday life.
My work balances playfulness and depth, using visual simplicity to address complex emotional and social themes.

Women's party. The main rule is no rules
Painting by Ніна Федотова
50 x 40 cm • Canvas, Oil
One of a kind
The painting conveys a sense of freedom, understanding and joy that arise when women come together to celebrate life and themselves. The main pink color symbolizes tenderness, self-love and harmony. The chickens, which are a metaphor for women, emphasize the uniqueness of each individual and ironically point to the stereotypes often attributed to female company. Their connection with nature also reminds us of organicism and the importance of being authentic.
The swing floating among the bright colors adds lightness to the picture and symbolizes the balance between life's challenges and simple joys. The glasses represent a celebration of carefree living and acceptance of life as it is. They show that a real women's party is a place where there are no judgments or rules, only frankness and sincere support.
The painting reflects the universal themes of self-love, mutual support and self-care. It's a celebration of individuality and collective joy that leaves you feeling warm and reminds you that the greatest riches of life are the people you share important moments with and the ability to enjoy the present.
This work encourages us to explore what makes us happy, to accept ourselves as we are, and to go forth with courage to meet our joys.
