This work serves as the conceptual culmination of the series Signs for the Blind, which explores how symbolic systems and rules shape — and limit — human thinking. The depicted figure recognizes the constructed nature of moral and social frameworks, yet consciously accepts and recomposes them, forming an individual ethical position. Positioned within a structure reminiscent of crucifixion — itself composed of fragments of biblical text — the subject appears not as a passive victim but as an active agent who voluntarily inhabits these constraints. The background grid evokes both confinement and learning, suggesting that limitation is not merely external but constitutive of subjectivity itself. Within self-imposed boundaries, freedom emerges not as their absence, but as their conscious selection. In this sense, the work reflects the idea of autonomy of the will, as described by Immanuel Kant.
