Anna Kryvych
Artist from Ukraine
Kryvych is a contemporary interdisciplinary artist from Kyiv. She studied at the Madrid School of Fine Arts and spent two years training in the studio of Ukrainian artist Leo Limanenko. Her practice explores the mechanisms of human interaction with the world, revealing deeper layers of reality, truth, and being. Through her work, she addresses themes of dehumanization, estrangement from nature, and immersion in artificial constructs that distort our connection to the essence of life. She lives and works in Kyiv.

Boy N 1
Painting by Anna Kryvych
40 x 40 cm • Oil on canvas
Location:
Kyiv, Ukraine
In this work the human body appears both sensual and strangely artificial. The surface of the figure is rendered with a glossy density that resembles porcelain or polished lacquer rather than living skin. Flesh becomes an object — something sculptural, reflective, almost manufactured. The male body is presented without narrative or psychological expression. Instead, it exists as a form suspended between vitality and simulation. Light glides across the surface as if over a crafted material, transforming muscle into a kind of visual architecture. “Boy No.1” continues my exploration of the unstable boundary between the living and the constructed. The body here is no longer only biological matter; it becomes an image — a polished shell where desire, materiality and artificiality intersect.
