Elmira Shemsedinova Timur Shemsedinov Acrylic on canvas 2025 Bloom project In this project, artist Elmira Shemsedinova collaborates with her brother, renowned IT specialist and information systems architect Timur Shemsedinov. Together, they combine painting with fragments of computer code developed by Timur, set against a dark canvas background reminiscent of a computer screen. The compositions and lush floral imagery clearly reference the aesthetics of Ukrainian Baroque—a style that emerged in the 17th–18th centuries and became a symbol of the Golden Age, Cossack military glory, and the flourishing of national culture. In that tradition, rich vegetation symbolized triumph, prosperity, and abundance. Here, the nature of the homeland serves as a source of strength, inspiration, and spiritual enrichment. The digital code becomes part of a living, organic process—like a new type of embroidery, intricately woven into the fabric of contemporary culture. These works do more than illustrate concepts or decorate space—they unexpectedly transform digital language into a visual and artistic element. Contemporary Ukrainian Baroque emerges here as a synthesis of life-affirming beauty and cutting-edge technology—a ray of harmony amidst a turbulent present.
