1980 — Matienko Maria was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. I was born into a family of architects. My grandfather was also an architect and a political prisoner in the USSR. In our family, there were always a lot of reflections and discussions about contemporary art in general and how our (Soviet and post-Soviet) art differs from other countries of the “Soviet camp” and Western Europe. 2003 — Finished the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAFAA), faculty of architecture, Kyiv, Ukraine 2007-2008 — Internships in Germany and Switzerland in the direction of abstract painting and organic design. Since 2023 - regular participation in group exhibitions and projects of the art group "Instytut avtomatyky" , Kyiv, Ukraine Since 2023 - membership in the National Union of Artists of Ukraine I teach art to adults and teenagers a little bit. Working in the field of art is my only occupation. I live and work in Ukraine.
