Ferry Tales

‘Ferry Tales’ brings us into a world of solitude and immensity, where fleeting moments meet eternal ones. The project focuses on the ferryboat as a space in permanent transition, a microcosm of life itself. Through this metaphorical journey, Carlos Barradas captures the transient experiences of ferry crossings, turning the trivial into something exceptional. Inspired by Michel Foucault’s words, the ferryboat becomes a heterotopia—both a place of liberation and confinement, floating between worlds. It is a space where the usual societal rules blur, encouraging discovery and imagination over control and surveillance. This work invites viewers to reflect on broader themes of existence, emotion, and the liminal spaces we all traverse in life.
