Madagascar

Known as Rijasolo, I was born in France. In 2004, I went back to Madagascar and started a wandering work called “MIVERINA”, in which I strove to show how difficult it was to regain an intimate relationship with Madagascar. In December 2006, I embarked on a photojournalism course in Paris (EMI-CFD). In November 2007, I went on to set up RIVA PRESS (www.riva-press.com) in association with four photojournalists concerned with maintaining an independent view. Since I collaborates with french newspapers and magazines as Libération, Le Monde, La Croix or Jeune Afrique. In 2011, I decide to return living to Madagascar. In 2013, I publish my first book of photography “Madagascar, nocturnes” (no comment® editions) about nightlife in Madagascar. Second book in 2014 "Akamasoa, Rêves d'Enfants - 25 ans d'action du Père Pedro" (Éditions du Rocher). Since 2013 I work for Agence France Presse (AFP) as a photojournalist. In 2022, I won the World Press Photo award in Africa Long-Term Project category. I live and work at Antananarivo, Madagascar.
