Eduardo Verdecia (b. 1978, HolguĂn, Cuba) is a Cuban-born artist known for transforming contemporary imagery into abstract visual narratives. He earned his BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts “El Alba” in 1998 and debuted with Suspicious Shadows of a Paranoid Specimen’s Traces, exploring the tension between society and individual experience in late 20th-century Cuba. Represented by Swiss dealer Christian Zeller, Verdecia exhibited nationally and internationally before immigrating to the United States in 2001, where he shifted to abstract painting. His solo show Aerial Abstraction (2015, Mulberry Art Studios, Lancaster, PA) reimagined Google Maps imagery into vibrant abstract works. He has exhibited at 3rd Street Gallery, Lancaster Museum of Art, and other venues, receiving the Juror’s Prize at 3rd Street Gallery’s Winter Collection (2018). Verdecia lives and works in the United States.
