Andrew Oshodobo (b. March 11) is a multidisciplinary artist from Lagos, Nigeria,
with ancestral roots in Jattu, Auchi, Edo State. He holds a BSc in Accounting from
Ambrose Alli University, but his true focus has always been creative expression,
using art as a way to understand life beyond numbers and structure.
Working mainly with acrylic and textiles, Andrew explores emotion, identity, and the
hidden feelings people often struggle to express. His work naturally leans toward
themes of depression, vulnerability, and inner tension, reflecting a deep and ongoing
conversation with the self. These themes emerge not as statements, but as honest
reflections of lived experience.
For Andrew, art is meant to be felt, not simply looked at. His practice values
openness and emotional truth, believing that vulnerability can create connection and
that creativity can offer healing, comfort, and understanding across shared human
experiences.
