(EN) Vincent Alvarez began his artistic career in music as the guitarist for the Parisian metal band Magoa, with whom he performed for nearly a decade. Co-founder of the recording studio Ten To One in Boulogne-Billancourt, he nurtured a deep love for music and the performing arts—a passion that later inspired his photography practice. He collaborated with artists such as TINP and Mihlo, creating music videos and promotional photographs. His photography career started in 2019. At the same time, he developed a fascination for analog photography, inspired by the works of masters like Irving Penn and Helmut Newton. Tired of the oversaturation of fleeting images in today’s world, he gradually adopted an artistic approach that prioritizes slowness and thoughtful observation to capture the essence of each moment. This approach allows him to fully reconnect with the present, frame by frame. (FR) Vincent Alvarez débute sa carrière artistique dans la musique en tant que guitariste du groupe de métal parisien Magoa, avec lequel il se produit pendant près de dix ans. Co-fondateur du studio d’enregistrement Ten To One à Boulogne-Billancourt, il nourrit un amour profond pour la musique et les arts de la scène, un fil rouge qui inspire ensuite sa pratique de la photographie. Il collabore notamment avec des artistes tels que TINP et Mihlo, réalisant des clips musicaux et des photos promotionnelles. Sa carrière de photographe débute en 2019. Lassé par la saturation d’images éphémères qui caractérise notre époque, il adopte au fil des années une approche artistique favorisant la lenteur et la réflexion pour capturer l’instant. Cette démarche lui permet de se reconnecter pleinement au moment présent, déclenchement après déclenchement.
