Maryna Karapetian is a Ukrainian painter based in Barcelona. While painting remains at the core of her practice, she is currently expanding her work through collage and textiles, exploring how the same questions can take different material forms.
After leaving Ukraine in 2016, she lived and worked in Sweden for seven years before relocating to Spain. Alongside a career of more than a decade as a professional artist in the game industry, she began developing her independent artistic practice in 2021. Working intuitively across painting, collage and material experimentation, she explores experiences of uncertainty, transformation and the shifting boundaries between self and surroundings. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in London, Rome, Valencia, Kyiv and Ljubljana.
