Dr Maral Darbandi is an Iranian visual artist and oil painter working across contemporary figurative expressionism and expressive abstraction. Her practice explores identity, memory, femininity, silence, and human psychological experience through gesture, colour, texture, and the human figure. Holding a PhD in Visual Arts (Painting) alongside advanced academic qualifications in Political Science and Private Law, she brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her artistic research. Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Iran and internationally, including exhibitions in Oman, Türkiye, the United States.
