The installation âWoven from the Pastâ explores how lived experience remains part of a person even when its original context changes.
The work is made from wooden beads that I previously used to create jewelry. After 2022, due to repeated relocations and a prolonged pause in my practice, I continued to keep these materials, unable to return to my previous way of working with them.
At the end of 2025, I decided to clear the space of accumulated materials. The beads were transformed from jewelry-making materials into the foundation of a different object - a small rug.
For me, this process became a way of rethinking my own experience: neither returning to the past in its original form nor rejecting it, but integrating it into a new context through a change of form.
The material retains its history while acquiring a different function. The past emerges not as something to return to, but as a foundation from which a new form can take shape.
