“Right After” is a painting about the emptiness that lingers the moment the door closes behind your guests and your celebration is “over.”
A trace of joy that has already slipped away.
At the same time, it reflects a kind of ritual — when people put on masks of cheerfulness for their loved ones on their birthday, because it’s expected, even if they don’t truly like that day.
