One of a kind
These peonies were born from a wish to capture a fleeting moment — that brief instant in spring when a fresh bouquet is placed in a vase and the whole room suddenly fills with warmth and fragrance. I painted this piece with a palette knife, layer by layer, almost as if sculpting the flowers by hand — so that every petal carries its own weight, movement, and light.
I chose the cool blue-grey background deliberately, to let the pinks, magentas, and peachy tones of the flowers sing even brighter, as if glowing from within. The texture of the paint here isn't just a technique — it's a way of conveying touch, volume, the living, almost sculptural presence of each bloom.
