Krystyna Vershyna
Artist from Ukraine
Ukrainian artist working with ceramics, sculpture, and installation. Born in Berdyansk, a city currently under Russian occupation, she is now based in Lviv, Ukraine.
Her artistic practice explores memory, transformation, and the relationship between the human psyche and material form. Approaching clay as a living medium, she investigates its capacity to preserve traces of experience, emotion, and time. Through hand-built ceramic sculptures and vessels, she creates symbolic worlds inhabited by mythical creatures, ancient beasts, and hybrid forms.
Drawing on folk imagery, baroque ornamentation, and personal narratives, Vershyna creates works that explore resilience, identity, and the process of self-discovery through ceramic form.

One of a kind
The herd moves like a caravan — but do they know where they are going?
A bridge through the arch reveals itself only to those who dare to pass through it. It speaks of entering a particular state of searching for things that nourish, that create a sense of presence, and that come together like a puzzle to form an inner support for the psyche. The arch is movable — and only the viewer decides whether it is an entrance into, or an exit from, this subconscious state.
I am drawn to the idea of inventing a world of one’s own and immersing in it. Only a delicate balance between the real and the imagined can sustain us — yet without the realm of imagination, living becomes impossible. It is there that vision is born, filling the moment of creation with a sense of euphoria — the feeling of bringing something unique and untouched into existence.
