The Ballet Mécanique series is dedicated to the art film conceived, written, and co-directed by the French artist Fernand Léger in collaboration with the filmmaker Dudley Murphy in 1924, which has a musical score by the American composer George Antheil. The main principle of the unique, saturated, multilayered sound of the orchestra I took as an idea for these paintings. Continuing the tradition of my favourite mixed technique, I take various media apart into layers, working without sketches step by step.
