Familiar Ground - 1

This is one of the first works in the series. It was made back in 2022. Had a preliminary sketch. 1 of 5 go in pairs, compositional, structural. Familiar Ground is a metaphor for my personal return to familiar and simple materials: either purely oil paints, as in August Time, or purely acrylic, as in Familiar Ground 1.5; or a combination of them, as in Big Horizon. Took part in Familiar Ground solo show (2025).
