I wasn’t born yet when the autobiographical film based on the works of Hunter S. Thompson was released. The story of journalist Hunter and his lawyer friend Laszlo unfolds in the wild space between the 1960s and 1970s, during the Nixon era, as they travel across America and drift into chaos. The film’s characters are collective archetypes that inspired this series of six portraits. I watched the movie twice, capturing over a hundred frames, but selected only six figures, though many more unique characters exist within the film.
