Artist from Ukraine
Art is a remedy for anxiety. My works do not describe a specific time; instead, they reflect internal experiences of events. The meditative process of handcrafting heals, soothes, and provides stability in a life filled with both inner and outer turbulence. The final result is an expression of emotions that are difficult to articulate in words, without referencing specific events. In my art, I strive for aesthetics, creating delicate lace-like images that appear fragile yet are confident and strong.
I primarily work with abstraction and occasionally with floral motifs, creating compositions from planes and lines, achieving the desired effect through color and texture. I explore the possibilities of combining paper palettes in compositions of various moods and complexities. I convey tension through the dynamics of lines and the density of space and its details.
I work in the technique of paper cutting, creating artworks with a knife. Using a method historically common in Ukraine for home decoration, I reinterpret it to produce contemporary graphic pieces that serve a similar purpose — to adorn or complement spaces. My works aim to immerse viewers in a state of meditative observation and discovery of details or imperfections, offering emotional support and a unique artistic experience.
