Jamon
Painting by Oleksandr Topchyi
50 x 40 cm • Oil on canvas
Location:
Kyiv, Ukraine
The artwork consists of two components. The first is a return to history. From the very beginning, still lifes were painted not to make interesting paintings, but to have things in the house that the family cannot buy.
The second component is a reflection on modernity... The world is becoming more dynamic, predatory and even animalistic... Therefore, for a modern still life it is no longer interesting to arrange objects compositionally, but a good piece of meat is enough
