Painting by Anna Potomkina

This painting is inspired by the Trypillian culture, one of the oldest civilizations that existed on the territory of modern Ukraine over 5,000 years ago. The Trypillians left behind a unique heritage, particularly pottery with symbolic imagery reflecting their worldview and connection to nature. The Trypillian Goat in this work is an attempt to reinterpret and reimagine ancient motifs through a modern lens. Using acrylic and charcoal, I aimed to convey the simplicity, symbolism, and harmony with nature that were key elements of this culture. This piece is my tribute to the rich history of our land.
