Rafaela Nunes
Artist from Portugal
Rafaela Nunes, also known as Nenhures, was born in Lisbon in 1991. She is a transdisciplinary artist-researcher currently studying for a PhD in Multimedia Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, collaborating with the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI/LARSyS) and the eGames Lab.
Her work explores the places of ambiguity and convergence among dualisms like natural/artificial, subject/object, human/non-human and real/fictional. She works through an exchange between different media like painting, sculpture, programming generative processes and participatory methods. By imaginatively speculating beyond these dualisms, she aims to provoke a rethinking of more-than-human alternatives toward more emancipatory futures.
