Being II
Photography by Mario Klinger
100 x 150 cm • Lambda c-type print, Acrylic
Location:
Herrsching, Germany
In Japanese Zen Buddhism, Satori, a mystical sounding word, describes the moment of experiencing all-comprehensive understanding. Klinger’s photographic series Satori Room shows digitally altered picture spaces and views which time and again combine the factual with the abstract, uniting the concrete with the indeterminable. Thus the perceivable world is mixed with non-representational pictures of imagination, pictures which serve as metaphors for the inexplicable and mediate a visual inkling thereof. The cycle aesthetically approaches the subject of the absolute and sublime and poses the oft asked questions: Whence do we come? Who are we? Where do we go? Edition of 6+2AP
