Sasha Luneva
Artist from Ukraine
I was born in the city of Mykolaiv in the south of Ukraine. I studied in Kharkiv, now I live and work in Kyiv due to the war and Russian occupation.
I am engaged in painting, in the direction between primitivism, naive art and art brut. I mainly work with acrylic and oil, and almost every work includes acrylic balloons, dry pastels, and texture pastes.
My work is focused on the interaction between people and the environment. Often my works are about fear, narrow spaces and love. I like to work with different topics, passing them through my experience.

«St. Andrew's Cross»
Painting by Sasha Luneva
200 x 200 cm • Canvas, Acrylic, Spray paint
Location:
Kyiv, Ukraine
The installation "St. Andrew's Cross" is
primarily an attempt to express a classic
biblical plot in an atypical way.
When first mounted in the exhibition, the
work was nailed to the wall by the arms and
legs. This act symbolically emphasizes sacrifice
and suffering, giving the installation a new
emotional dimension.
