Lisette van Hoogenhuyze (1991), was born in The Hague, Netherlands. She graduated Art History at the UvA before she finished her degree in Fine Art in 2019 at the University of Arts Utrecht. She now lives and works in Lisbon. Lisette is a multimedia artist who developed a particular interest in a combination of textile, paint and printmaking. She has exhibited in Museum Ijssellstein, Torch Gallery (Amsterdam) and Saatchi gallery (London) among other institutions. Her work is in the KPMG art collection, the Büyükkusoglu collection, the collection of the National government of The Netherlands and in various private collections in New York, Slovakia, Italy and the Netherlands.

This work was inspired by a block print I did at a residency in India. I went to India in 2023 to dive deeper into textile work and learned a lot about natural dye, weaving, Block printing and miniature painting. When I got back I had the feeling I wanted to zoom in on this craft and explore the pattern in a different way.
