Concept 1: "Garden"
In my artistic practice, I frequently find myself revisiting the most significant moments from my childhood that have shaped me as an individual. These memories serve as a foundation during the most challenging periods of my life; by recalling and recreating them in my paintings, I seem to sing an ode to tranquility and silence, which lifts me during times of struggle. Childhood, for everyone, becomes a cornerstone. The images that emerge from my memory are grounded in routine moments, the meanings of which we reinterpret and come to understand more profoundly as adults. The world of a child is illusory and carefree, imbued with a sense of time that flows more slowly.
The abstract color patches envelop these memories like a comforting embrace, transforming into a therapeutic experience for the already grown-up self. The entire series can be perceived as a breath of fresh air; after viewing it, one feels as though they have cleansed themselves of accumulated tension.
I have never wished for viewers to perceive negative energy in my works, which more readily provokes emotional responses. Rather, in working on this series, I strive to convey the warmth of that childhood garden to the audience. My childhood is directly associated with the garden in which I grew up, and this garden now symbolizes the inner, closed world of the child that resides within each of us. In a certain sense, to exhibit my works and make an artistic statement is akin to inviting people into my garden. Some paintings may possess a profound, intimate character that is, at times, even thrilling for me to reveal to myself.
