A 2012 photograph printed on canvas and mounted on a sturdy wooden frame. It depicts a beach in Odesa in January, author's favourite month in the fabled beach resort. Off-season, deserted and dressed up in green and brown tones, it gained a new significance with the blockade of the city's port. As one can just about discern a silhouette of a vessel on the horizon, pier's arms are stretched wide open, awaiting foreign ships or perhaps simply signalling for help.
