Wall tapestry created in collaboration with fungi. Ukrainian hemp fibre in a format of loose yarn was loosely hand-wovewn and dyed with natural pink pigment collected in Mexico. Then the vowen structure was offered to fungal spores local to the Netherlands as nutrition. In a period of time and in controlled conditions, the tiny spores grew bigger, digesting the cellullose in the fibers and creating a unique mycelium surface in return. MYC_Carpet series is part of an ongoing research and growing collection of various techiques and methodologies of collaborating with living organisms.
