The main theme I've been working on in all my practices lately is “The Torn Man in the Torn World" This phrase could actually be enough. But here is some more banality and verbiage. The main statements: Deconstruction as a reflection of a state, time and epoch and as a possible salvation. The absurdity of everything. Tragedy without tragedy. The feeling of broken glass. The technique of 1000 cuts. Irreversibility as a method A ballpoint pen is a material that I chose for myself back in 2014, I compare the rigidity and irreversibility of what was painted and what is happening around me. This is an attempt to create a new language for the sense of time and space in which we live, a time that is broken into sharp fragments of events. Each line is a moment that will remain forever, that cannot be erased or changed. Now these sharp ‘cuts’ on the paper become a metaphor for memory and pain. Office paper, taped together in large formats, serves here as a kind of canvas, but also as a document - a reminder of the everyday life that we are used to considering stable, but which can change and break just as quickly. In my works, I try to put these fragments together, creating a kind of manuscript of a broken and reinvented reality.
