In this photo from the project "Between Reality and Dream", a naked female figure with white wings looks elegant and fragile, as if frozen in flight olike a dance. Her wings emphasize the idea of spiritual elevation or escape from reality into the world of dreams and fantasies. However, the red circle in the background adds a new, deeper meaning to the image. If it is seen as a symbol of blood, it changes the tone of the photo, giving it drama.
A circle of blood can symbolize the physicality and vulnerability of the human body, as well as allude to sacrifice or suffering. It becomes not just a background, but a symbol of the fragility of life, the connection between life and death. While the white wings hint at purity and spiritual elevation, the red circle evokes associations with pain and the inevitability of death. This contrast creates a tension between the corporeal and the metaphysical, between pain and hope.
The figure of a woman hovering within this circle symbolizes the transitional state between reality and illusion, between life and death, or between the conscious and the subconscious. Blood can represent both the finitude of life and the possibility of rebirth, while wings are a symbol of hope for escape from this fate or spiritual growth. In this image, body and spirit merge into a single energy that balances between the physical and the spiritual, creating an emotional and philosophical context for reflection.
This composition conveys the complexity of human existence, reflecting at the same time fragility and strength, corporeality and immortality, pain and exaltation.
